Jazz Maui presents Jazz Maui Camp 2024, a series of inspiring clinics designed for aspiring jazz vocalists and musicians of all ages including high school and college students and adults. Jazz Maui Camp’s clinicians include four of New York City’s finest young jazz musicians; leading figures of Maui’s jazz scene that have toured and taught internationally; and, two outstanding vocalists that have performed and recorded worldwide. Clinics will focus on instrument and vocal-specific jazz techniques, performance practice, and jazz improvisation, often in hands-on settings. Participants may attend as many sessions as they like, held mostly in the evenings between July 1 and July 11 at Backlit Buddha Studios in Kahului. Paul will lead a discussion of jazz drumming techniques, including styles, interaction, time-keeping, and soloing. Well-known on Maui, Paul Marchetti has performed and recorded with artists such as Mick Fleetwood, Eric Marienthal, Walter Becker, Michael McDonald, Michael Buble and many more. Marchetti has appeared on national and local television shows and recorded and toured with an international list of artists.
