Let the Sunshine In! Arts Mission Oak Cliff (AMOC) brings HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical to the Bishop Arts area in September 2025. This electric production reimagines the 1967 Broadway classic with a dynamic team of Dallas-based artists who breathe new life into this revolutionary story of freedom, protest, and community.

Set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War and the rise of the counterculture movement, HAIR follows a tribe of politically passionate, peace-loving youth in search of truth, love, and liberation. Performed inside the historic sanctuary of AMOC—transformed into a psychedelic haven of color and chaos—the production invites audiences into an immersive and sensory-rich experience that blurs the line between performance and participation.

Slated for 11 performances, this production celebrates radical self-expression, collective action, and the enduring power of chosen family. More than a revival, HAIR at AMOC is a homegrown reclamation—a celebration of Oak Cliff’s creative spirit and its continued resistance to conformity. With unforgettable music, fearless storytelling, and casting choices that reflect the vibrant diversity of our community, HAIR is more than a musical. It’s a movement. 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult due to content of the show.
