Who: Nixta

What: Comprised of saxophonist Will Pyle and percussionist Luciano Medina, Nixta presents a duo program showcasing styles and instruments from folk, world, classical, and contemporary traditions, including the World Premiere of Sledge by Austin-based composer Max Franko.

Just as the Aztecs and Mayans invented nixtamilization to enhance the flavor and aroma of maize, Nixta combines their curious and thoughtful spirits to enhance and create an intimate concert-going experience.
