This Halloween weekend, step into the gothic grandeur of Charleville Castle, the haunting setting featured in the most recent season of Netflix’s Wednesday, for The Woe Gala—an unforgettable evening of burlesque, cabaret, and drag.

On Saturday, November 1st, from 5 pm until around 9 pm, the castle’s candlelit halls will come alive with performances inspired by the eerie elegance of Wednesday Addams and the dark whimsy of Tim Burton. Expect gothic glamour, macabre humour, and a night of twisted spectacle.

Tickets are €20, with return buses available from both the town centre and the train station for €5. The first buses depart at 3:45( town centre) and 3:50 (train station), with a second departure respective at 4:45 and 4:50. Guests arriving early will have the chance to take a guided tour of the castle at 4:00 pm for an additional €10, a rare opportunity to explore one of Ireland’s most iconic gothic landmarks before the show begins. Minimal parking available in Charleville forest but it's about 15/20 mins walk whereas bus from town/station will drop you to the castle doors.

Costumes are not just encouraged but celebrated—whether you embody Wednesday herself, another member of the Addams family, or a creation of your own, there will be prizes for the best dressed. While there will be no bar on site, guests are welcome to bring their own drinks, provided they do so with respect for the historic venue and fellow guests.

Before the show begins, guests will also have the chance to take professional photographs on Charleville Castle’s grand staircase. This dramatic backdrop is the perfect place to showcase your costume and capture the atmosphere of the evening, and the photos are included in the ticket price.

Charleville Castle is more than just a location; it is a gothic icon. Recently immortalised on screen in Wednesday and long evoking the spirit of Tim Burton’s dark fairytales, its shadowed turrets and grand halls provide the perfect stage for a Halloween celebration filled with mischief, mystery, and the deliciously macabre.
