Asè Apothecary Sound Sanctuary Floating Sound Bath Experience at the Shelbyville Recreation Center

Fri Sep 25, 2026 5:15 PM - 6:30 PM Shelbyville Recreation Center indoor pool, 37160

Hosted by Nikki Quinlan, Sound Healer Practitioner, Certified Meditation Teacher, & Level 3 Reiki Master, owner of Asè Apothecary Sound Sanctuary

What Is a Floating Sound Bath experience?  A sound bath is a meditative, sensory experience where you allow yourself to simply receive — no effort, no expectations, no doing. You’ll float weightlessly while being surrounded by the harmonic tones of crystal singing bowls, which vibrate at precise frequencies that interact with your body on a cellular level.  These vibrations move through water — and since the human body is about 70% water, those sound waves travel through you like ripples in a pond, gently re-tuning your body’s energy field and bringing your mind and nervous system into alignment.  The bowls are tuned to specific frequencies that correspond with your chakras (energy centers), helping to release emotional blockages and restore harmony throughout the body.

Why “Floating”? When you float on water (or in this case, a floating air mattress), your body experiences sensory deprivation — one sense (touch/weight) is reduced, which allows your hearing and awareness to heighten. This intensifies the experience — you feel the sound not just in your ears, but through your entire being. The vibrations travel through your muscles, bones, and tissues, creating a sensation of deep peace and effortless meditation.  It’s like your whole body becomes a tuning fork — syncing to the frequencies of calm, balance, and restoration.
