Description
Pixi Pete & Asher Levin Present a day of...
Ecstatic Contact Connection Dance
Are you into Ecstatic Dance, Contact Improvisation or both?
Would you like to experience these practices combined?
Asher and Pete are excited to introduce you to their brand new event, born from a shared love of both practices and a desire to grow these practices together in the community. It's an opportunity to explore new ways to connect on the dance floor - to develop skills, discernment and experience-based courage connecting with self and others in both Contact Improv & Ecstatic Dance practices.
A Contact Improv (C.I) afternoon workshop with Asher, will be followed by an Ecstatic Dance (E.D) evening with Pixi Pete. Whether or not you are an experienced C.I dancer, this is a place to develop your practice or discover it, and then to combine this on the open floor of E.D.
What to expect:
Contact Improv workshop: 3pm – 6pm
Appropriate for beginners to advanced, The C.I workshop will cover embodied relational skills, as well as exploring C.I body physics. The workshop will start by developing your creative, honest, aware connection with self, the different parts of the body and the space around you, prior to connecting in focused scores with others. We’ll first enjoy the spaces and non-touch connections between beings. Exploring skills of coming into physical contact with another, you’ll deepen your presence to intimacy embodied, creative, moving physical intimacy. There will be spacious qualities within the closeness. You’ll also gain confidence in your awareness of boundaries. As well as lighter, lyrical scores, you'll safely experience sharing some body weight and offering support within dance. Finally, we’ll open up beyond 1-2-1 into constellations of several beings, combining awareness of our own dance vibe with consciousness of the whole evolving Happening.
Ecstatic Dance open floor 7.30pm - 10.30pm
Coming together in an opening circle to welcome All and give guidelines. There will be a short warm-up and embodiment to reconnect in and to the space, self and each other. We will then move in to the E.D open floor where, with some light facilitation, you'll move and dance freely in the space, going on your journey with & in the presence of All.
The invitation is to deepen your movement practice, having a place to be creative, to explore your own authentic range of movement and emotions. The E.D will be accompanied by recorded music and live percussion.
We will close with a live sound journey to integrate.

Bio Pixi Pete (also known, offstage, as Peter Michel)
I epitomise the modern artistic polymath. Seamlessly combining roles as a DJ, creative facilitator, and musician. I draw from a rich tapestry of over a decade of experience in embodiment practices, meditation, and performance. My training with the Dancing Heart Path's esoteric and embodiment school, Authentic Relating Lvl 1 and initiation into, Cacao Ceremonies in Nicaragua, all contributed to my practice and reflect my dedication. My unique touch involves integrating live percussion into my DJ sets, infusing electronic and acoustic rhythms, creating a completely unique, electrifying (and acoustic) performance. I am a popular resident DJ for Ecstatic Dance U.K, Bristol, Brighton, Dance Medicine Glastonbury and M.B.S, as well as working as a guest DJ internationally. I also craft my own UK ceremonies and events.
Bio Asher Levin
I’ve been practicing CI since my teens. I moved to Berlin in 2008 where I started teaching. I’ve taught CI internationally ever since. In CI, I experience trust, creativity and joy, as well as my shadows. I meet myself as I am. I love both the unusual and to re-move
the known afresh. It’s liberating to connect with my animal self, fully in the moment. I love dancing wild and free, yet aware and attentive. Alongside duets, and solos, I have a passion for multi-partner and whole group constellations. I am particularly interested
in the interplay of spaciousness and intimacy, strength and tenderness. I am now based in Dartington, where I love the local wild life of dancing, singing, spiritual and community engagement, as well as actively interacting with nature.
