Celebrating the heart of our community through local art and the stories that inspire us.

Join us on Friday 7 August - Sunday 9 August, as we open our beautiful hospice garden for HeART of Ashgate — a brand-new outdoor art exhibition celebrating creativity, community, and the incredible local talent we have here in North Derbyshire. From vibrant paintings and illustrations, to prints, ceramics and mixed-media pieces, there will be something for every taste and every budget. It is also a fantastic opportunity to see our brand new Tree of Life sculpture, dedicated to those we’ve loved and lost.

Whether you’re an experienced collector, a first-time buyer, or simply someone who loves to browse, you’ll find plenty to admire — and perhaps the perfect piece to take home, all in aid of Ashgate Hospice.

Every piece purchased, every drink enjoyed, and every moment shared helps us continue providing specialist end-of-life care for the people who need us.

What's on each day

Opening Night (Fri 7 Aug, 6:30–9pm):
Celebrate the launch with complimentary canapés and a glass of Pimms on arrival. Enjoy live music, browse a wide range of artwork available to purchase, and take part in the silent auction—all in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

Saturday 8 Aug (10:30am–5:30pm):
A full day of art and entertainment with live music, a vibrant exhibition, and a silent auction featuring standout pieces. Enjoy burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream, plus a fun sip-and-paint experience. There’ll be alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, face painting for all ages, and a raffle for a chance to win prizes.

Sunday 9 Aug (10:30am–5:30pm):
Wrap up the weekend with a relaxed final day. Explore art stalls, bid in the silent auction, and enjoy live music throughout. Treat yourself to tea, coffee, cakes, scones, savoury bites, strawberries and cream, and ice cream. Join the sip-and-paint, enjoy face painting, and don’t miss the raffle before the event closes.
