SPECTRUM
Sun Dec 22, 2024 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The Pear Theatre, 94043
Description
Identity recognition is a profound and expansive concept. In this era of globalization, people come from diverse regions, each with unique cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Consequently, identity recognition has become a topic that everyone must grapple with.
"Spectrum" explores the boundaries and nuances of identity recognition through the language of dance. It is not merely a new dance exploration; it is also a journey of emotional connection and introspection.
What makes "Spectrum" unique is our invitation to four exceptional choreographers from different backgrounds. They are Katerina Bousleli, Si-Yu Duan, AL Abraham and Maya Anjali Agrawal. They draw inspiration from their own experiences, perspectives, and the insights of the children involved, incorporating various elements of identity recognition into their works. This creative approach transforms each piece into a distinct mirror, reflecting the complexity and diversity of identity recognition within a multicultural context.
In this vast spectrum of existence, you are unique, yet you are never alone.
