This presentation is intended for an audience seeking to understand what bio-sourced lubricants are, how they are made, and how they can be used.

Today, demand for bio-sourced lubricants is driven by companies’ sustainability goals and heightened awareness of the harmful pollutants used in lubricants. This trend is fuelled by the use of renewable feedstocks and the belief that bio-sourced lubricants are necessarily environmentally friendly.

Unfortunately, this rapid surge in demand for more sustainable lubricants has led to confusion, greenwashing, performance concerns, and widespread misunderstandings.

This presentation will explain what bio-sourced products are and how synthetic esters can fit that definition. It will demystify the confusion around bio-sourced, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly lubricants through clear definitions.
