Mark Harrison, AOP Accredited Member and Portrait Photographer
Over 30 years of photographing the great and the good (as well as the just plain odd), has given Mark Harrison a collection of portraits of some of the most important and influential individuals you could ever meet.
After leaving Art School, Mark threw himself into the world of editorial portraits, starting with the iconic Blitz Magazine. After building a portfolio of famous authors, Mark was soon shooting for a raft of international publications, as he still does today, alongside his advertising, film and corporate work.
Noted for his use of lighting and deft handling of large groups of people,
his recent clients have included ITV, BBC, Spotify, Avalon TV, the Times Magazine, Stylist and Burberry. With a huge list of notable sitters from Pavarotti and Benedict Cumberbatch, to Jude Law, Benazir Bhutto to the HM. Queen Camilla, Mark is often shooting in corners of hotel rooms (as well as the occasional palace).
Notably, Mark covered the BBC Newsnight/Prince Andrew interview, now made into two TV dramas.
Several of his images are now held in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, whilst his list of awards includes being selected for the Portrait of Britain exhibition across Britain every year from 2016-21.
He has an AOP (Gold) Open award for his Black Culture in Britain entry in 2021 and was recently shortlisted for the Sony Open awards in 2024.

Hat Margolies, Lucid Representation and AOP Member Director & Agent
Hat started as a commissioner on magazines, but has been running her own photographic representation and production agency, Lucid Rep now for over 15 years. Her role involves producing and organising stills and moving image shoots, often dealing with large budgets, and complex set ups but making sure it all works smoothly and stays on budget.
She sees her role as an agent as key in an increasingly competitive market - giving her photographers support, constructive criticism and a a sounding board. An agent can be a protective layer between client and photographer, someone to deal with the nitty gritty details while the photographer concentrates on the creative work.
Having been a member of the AOP for many years, Hat is very keen to continue to support the work the AOP has started on sustainability in shoot practice and to increase diversity across the industry, both in front and behind the camera. Hat is keen to make sure members feel safe and secure at work and supported by the AOP, at all stages of their career in the exciting and rewarding industry.
