Evening ticket sales close at 10pm on 22nd August. Any remaining tickets may be available from event control on Castle Hill.
Weekend at the Asylum is the world’s largest steampunk festival and features eleven separate evening shows for your enjoyment. Each is ticketed individually. Thursday 22nd August -
The Advance Guard Party - Running up Steep Hill. SORRY SOLD OUT. County Assembly Rooms, Doors 7 for 7.30. 14+ after 9pm. A chance to collect your weekend wristbands and merchandise early (Party goers only) socialise and catch up with your friends. Entertainment by Simply Kate Bush. £12 Informal seating in main hall and adjacent oval room.
Friday 23rd August -
Marc Burrows “The Magic of Terry Pratchett” and Doctor Corvus Marconi. The Venue @ BGU. Doors 7 for 7.30. 14+. Pratchett Biographer and steampunk performer Marc Burrows presents his touching, funny and hugely popular live show about the much loved author. With a special performance by Doctor Marconi too for a packed night. Theatre style seating for all.
Lady Elsie’s Steampunk Fashion Show. The County Assembly Rooms. Doors 7 for 7.30. 14+ after 9pm. In collaboration with the Steamstress Squadron with entertainment from Lady Violet Hugh and Belly Fusion. Amazing steampunk creations and outfits on the catwalk and a chance to dress to impress yourself. Fully seated.
Decodance. SORRY SOLD OUT. The Drill. Doors 7 for 7.30. 16+ . The Asylum’s now famous foray into the world of Dieselpunk. Fabulous entertainment from Thomas B Wild, Alice Strange and Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer. Informal seating in the auditorium and adjacent bar. Limited dance floor.
Saturday 24th August -
Doctor Who and the Daleks. The Venue @ BGU. Doors 6 for 6.30. Certificate U. Made in 1965 starring Peter Cushing as The Doctor. Our immersive night with some Doctor Who treats and surprises including a costume competition for our best dressed Whovian. Fully seated theatre style.
Pirate’s Ahoy. SORRY SOLD OUT. County Assembly Rooms. Doors 7 for 7.30. 14+ after 9pm. Some adult themes so parental discretion advised. The hugely popular Captain’s Beard are back for a high energy evening for piratical souls supported by our newcomer winners from 2023 The Antipoet. Dress to the theme if you can. You aaaaargh bound to have a good time. Informal seating in main hall and oval room. SORRY SOLD OUT
The Grand Asylum “Impire” Ball. SORRY TICKETS FOR THE BALL ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE The Engine Shed. Doors 7 for 7.30. 14+. The glittering highlight of the steampunk social calendar. Enjoy a fine dinner and dessert in the historic surrounds of the Engine Shed, Lincoln’s leading live music venue. Be sure to dress in your finest as have your portrait captured by our photographer to record your attendance. Entertainment by the absolutely incomparable Retrobates so include your dancing shoes. (Important - please select your seats on the seating plan and menu choices when booking. (Choice of Pork Belly with Black Pudding Crumb or Asparagus and Red Pepper Strudel plus Biscoff Cheesecake for Dessert. Dietary requirements catered to.) Table seating as per plan. Sunday 25th August -
The Asylum Burlesque Show. (2 shows) The Venue @ BGU. Doors 6.45 for 7 and 9.15 for 9.30. 16+. Scarlet Butterfly presents the finest Burlesque show in the steampunk world. Please choose carefully from the early or late performance. Theatre style seating.
Open Mic with the Brass Brothers. County Assembly Rooms. Doors 7 for 7.30. 14+ after 9pm. A relaxed social evening with entertainment by the Brass Brothers. Open mic feature for people who would like to try their hand on stage at the Asylum, comedy, poetry, song or other performances. (Short performances of no more than ten minutes. Limited tech support - up to two instrument plug ins and mics or one recording backing feed. ) Informal seating in main hall and adjacent oval room.
The Time Travellers Party. The Engine Shed. Doors 7 for 7.30. 16+ (Theatre seating for all plus limited dance floor.) Our big music night at Lincoln’s best loved live music venue. A real high energy evening featuring Victor and the Bully, Madam Misfit and Wight Hot Pipes.
Monday 26th August -
The Dead Dog Party. SORRY SOLD OUT. County Assembly Rooms. Doors 7.30 for 8. 14+ after 9pm. The traditional last hurrah of the festival. Have you lasted right to the end? Relax, socialise and share your memories of Asylums past and this year. Entertainment from The Cogkneys and our famous charity auction. Watch out for a special secret souvenir pack too.
