Atelier Gatherings

Events list

The vision of Atelier began almost 10 years ago in Los Angeles, California where we were studying art and theology. We began to dream about establishing a community of young adults spread across the globe who, like us, held the conviction that beauty is integral to following Jesus; not an optional extra. This community of young artists, makers, poets, dreamers, and ultimately worshippers would see no sacred–secular divide in their worship and creative expression; they would be a people who speak prophetically both within the church and the broader culture, united in wholehearted devotion to rhythms of prayer, worship, and making. We dreamt that the church could become a studio space overflowing with worship and rich with mystery, beauty, and wonder: a place where the inner spiritual life is liberated through the knowledge of the love of God, and from which all art and creativity could flow.

Since then, Atelier’s main expression has taken place each summer at our annual school of worship and creativity in Normandy, France. We gather for ten days with young artists from around the world, embracing a rhythm of prayer and worship, table fellowship, and various creative workshops. We emphasise the importance of our inner worlds: the work of spiritual formation and personal freedom that leads to outward fruit in our lives and artistry. In the last couple of years, we have felt an invitation from the Lord to see Atelier established with deeper roots and a wider reach, with a home here in the UK. Having been approved by the Charity Commission at the end of 2025, we are excited about all that God wants to do in the years to come. In this short booklet, we hope to give you a glimpse of the work we have been doing and the vision we carry for the future. Thank you for reading and for being part of the adventure with us!
