About the instructor:

Marianna Gefen is a Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist and illustrator whose practice spans watercolor, collage, ink, vintage paper, and mixed-media textures. Holding both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Illustration and Design, her work is shaped by a deep interest in travel, culture, and place. Having lived in Barcelona, Madrid, Hamburg, and Berlin, she frequently documents her surroundings through reportage drawing, including journeys aboard the Trans-Siberian Express and across destinations around the world.

Her practice extends across editorial, publishing, fashion, and cultural projects, bringing a distinctive illustrative language to both commissioned and independent work. Her clients include The New York Times, The Washington Post, Vogue Italia, Vogue México y Latinoamérica, The Wall Street Journal, the United Nations, MIT Technology Review, the British Film Institute, and Bloomsbury Publishing, among others. Her original artworks have also been exhibited internationally.
