Join exhibiting artist Charity Hamidullah, Abigail Dupree-Polston (Costume Designer, Nighthawks), and Brooke Gilliam (Atlanta Ballet Company Performer) for an exclusive artist panel about the creative process behind the 2024 Atlanta Ballet’s Nighthawks.

CHARITY HAMIDULLAH
CHARITY HAMIDULLAH (Visual Art Contributor, Nighthawks) is a multi-disciplinary artist from Rochester, New York currently creating in Atlanta. Through the exploration of daily life as well as environments, Hamidullah utilizes the power of art to dive deeper into her purpose and connect with others. By way of creativity, Hamidullah embraces her vibrant cultural differences and upbringing to create visual narratives that many can relate to. Her colorful pallets are full of emotion, and life; symbolic of the diversity which co-exist in her story. From powerful abstract lines to impactful imagery, Hamidullah unveils chapters of growth, self-discovery and empowerment. From viewing pieces, it is undeniable that Hamidullah truly travels through her art as she examines different techniques, canvases and mediums. But no matter the style or approach, it is always made with love and the intention to inspire.
ABIGAIL DUPREE-POLSTON
ABIGAIL DUPREE-POLSTON (Costume Designer, Nighthawks) came to ballet from a career in fashion design, after attending Savannah College of Art and Design. She designed specialty athletic apparel before transitioning to design for the stage. Abigail has worked in both ballet and opera, designing works such as Kin for the San Francisco Ballet, The Source for the Miami City Ballet, and various pieces including Carnivale and Fauna with choreographer Claudia Schreier.
BROOKE GILLIAM
BROOKE GILLIAM is from Boulder, Colorado, and began her training at the Colorado Conservatory of Dance under the direction of Julia Wilkinson Manley. At 16, after attending the summer intensive, she was offered a merit scholarship to the Conservatory Program at Atlanta Ballet. From there, Brooke was a part of Atlanta Ballet 2 for two seasons before her promotion to the main company in 2018. Since joining, some of her most noteworthy performances include Russian Girls in George Balanchine’s Serenade, Alexander Ekman’s Cacti, demi-soloist in Yuri Possokhov’s Don Quixote, and Remi Wörtmeyer’s Significant Others. One of her most memorable moments with Atlanta Ballet has been touring and performing The Nutcracker at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This is Brooke’s sixth season with Atlanta Ballet.
