Earth Whispering Circle

A rare intimate retreat at the Hideaway Under the Stars, Moray, Scotland

There are moments in life that quietly change everything. Not loudly with a megaphone. But in a way that reshapes how you see the world… forever.

This is an invitation into one of those moments.

This Is Not a Typical Retreat

This is an Earth Whispering Circle. A deeply immersive experience for just four people, held in a stunning handcrafted mud and straw bale house nestled in the heart of Moray, Scotland.

It is quiet. Intimate. Profoundly personal.

And it is for those who are ready to listen differently, to themselves, to the land, and to something far older and wiser than both.

A cute and magical straw bale house

The award-winning Hideaway Under the Stars with its wonderful reciprocal roof, where you'll be staying.

The Place

Before we talk about the work, let's discuss where you'll be doing it.

The Hideaway Under the Stars is not a venue. It is a world.

Built by hand from mud, straw bale and wood, it is one of the finest examples of natural building in Scotland. The earthen floor stretches beneath your feet like polished leather. A cob seat curves beside the wood burner. Bespoke window frames follow the organic lines of the walls, and bunk beds nestle into alcoves with hessian curtains. Magical curiosities fill every corner. The skylight in the reciprocal roof is a window to the stars. And out the back, a hidden terrace tucks itself away from the world, sheltered and still.

But the Hideaway (where you'll be staying) is only half of it.

Step outside and you enter an entire living landscape. Permaculture food gardens (which you can forage from). A chicken and duck sanctuary. A alder copse with a den for sitting quietly in. And the faerie glen, with its dipping pools and a witches' coorie to meditate in.

This is the land you'll be listening to. And she has a great deal to say.

What Becomes Possible Here

Something shifts when we begin to deeply connect with the living intelligence of the Earth.

  • You may find yourself seeing the world as genuinely alive, responsive, in relationship with you, speaking in a language you'd simply never been taught to hear.
  • You may receive clear, grounded insight on something that's been circling for months.
  • You may feel the particular relief of guidance that carries no agenda and no pressure.

That connection doesn't end when you leave. That's the thing about learning to listen to the Earth. She's always there.

The Experience

Over two days, in this small, warm circle, you'll be gently guided into a different way of relating, to the land beneath your feet, to the spaces you inhabit, and to the questions you've been carrying quietly.

Through stillness, carefully held practices, and direct time with this extraordinary natural world, you'll begin to understand what it actually means to be in relationship with the Earth. Not as a trendy concept. As something you can feel in your body and return to on an ordinary Tuesday.

What Stays With You

This isn't a technique or a bunch of theory you'll learn and then forget to use. It's a shift in perception, the kind that makes the world feel more alive, more supportive, and less like something you have to push through alone.

People usually find that decisions come with greater ease afterwards. That there's a quiet knowing available to them that wasn't there before. That their relationship with nature stops being a nice idea and becomes something personal, direct, and genuinely sustaining.

You don't leave with something external tacked on. You leave differently.

A Rare Invitation

Because of the depth and nature of this work, this journey is limited to just four people. This is intentional. It allows for a level of presence, attention, and intimacy that simply isn’t possible in larger groups.

If something in you recognises this - even quietly - that recognition matters.

Your relationship with the Earth is already there.

This is where you begin to hear it.

Your Guide in the Circle

Hello! I'm Atulya K Bingham. Back in 2011, I ran out of money and ended up camping in a Turkish field. There was no power, no running water, and I had no building experience. It was the beginning of an adventure that completely changed my life. Within days of moving onto the land, I felt a deep sense of belonging and connection. I went from someone with no interest in off-grid survivalism and a fear of the wild, to someone who could hear the trees whispering to me. I lived alone there for five years and experienced things I will never forget. Things that made me completely re-evaluate existence.

I'm usually known for my natural building escapades. You can read more about me over at The Mud Home.
