Puppetry for Immersive Artists: A Viewpoints Workshop
Puppetry for Immersive Artists: A Viewpoints Workshop
Need help?
Join Audacious Immersive and Katy Williams Design for a Pay-What-You-Can Puppetry Performance Workshop.
At Audacious, we believe puppets are one of the most effective ways to bring fantastical worlds to life — adding interactivity, spontaneity, and surprise to immersive storytelling. That’s why we’re excited to offer this hands-on workshop with Colorado puppetry artist Katy Williams.
In this session, Katy introduces Viewpoints — a creative movement approach for devisers, directors, puppeteers, and performers. You'll explore space, gesture, and instinct through nine core elements, then experiment with simple blank puppets (scarves, bags, and basic forms) to discover surprising characters organically. No puppetry experience required — just curiosity and a willingness to play.
About Katy:
Katy Williams is a Denver-based puppet builder, performer, and educator whose creatures have appeared on Colorado stages, including Van Helsing’s Daughters (Audacious Immersive, 2019). Her latest work, The Big Bug Adventure, premieres at the 2025 Denver Fringe Festival the week before this workshop.
Pay-What-You-Can:
This workshop is part of our effort to help build a stronger, better-trained immersive arts community in Denver. If you're able to contribute financially, your payment helps cover costs and keep programs like this going. If paying isn’t doable right now, please still join us — your presence and participation matter most.
