Join ASO for a powerful programme exploring two very different faces of twentieth-century music. Webern’s concentrated and atmospheric Passacaglia opens the concert, before Shostakovich’s sparkling Second Piano Concerto brings wit, lyricism and virtuosity to the stage. The evening culminates in Shostakovich’s monumental Tenth Symphony — a work of extraordinary intensity, drama and emotional force.
