AULD REEKIE ROLLER DERBY EVENTS

Auld Reekie Roller Derby was founded in 2008, only a few years after the revival of roller derby in the USA. Our sport and community have evolved since the early days, but the uniquely inclusive, DIY spirit of the league remains the same. 

We are an entirely self-run league, with all of our members voluntarily contributing to different committees according to their skills and interests. Many of us start off with no skating experience whatsoever, but we have plenty of experienced skaters who coach new members through our Protostars programme before they join the league. We play and officiate high-level, competitive sport in an environment which is always supportive and encouraging. There are opportunities for involvement at all levels within and outwith our teams and officials crew, whether on skates or off. We continue to contribute to the development of the sport at a national and international level, and our skaters and officials participate in competitions all over the world.

Our membership is proudly composed of a diverse range of ages, genders, sexualities, abilities and nationalities. We cultivate the league as a safe and joyful space for all our members and are always working to improve the support we provide in order to make our sport as accessible as possible. We are respectful and compassionate to one another, embodying sportspersonship in all aspects of our involvement with the league.
