Join Justine and Alyss for a small, heart-led evening of kirtan, poetry, and shared voice.
Kirtan is a simple form of call-and-response chanting. You don’t need to know anything in advance, you can join in, rest within the sound, or simply listen. It has a way of settling the mind and softening the body, creating a quiet sense of connection, both within yourself and with others in the room.
This is a small, intimate gathering, held in a calm and welcoming space.
Alongside the chanting, poetry is gently woven into the evening. A small number of guests will be invited to share short pieces — poems or quotes that resonate with the theme of supporting women. You’re warmly encouraged to bring something if you feel called, as there may be space to include a few additional voices.
We’ll spend around an hour in chant and shared voice, followed by prasad, tea, and time to connect.
This gathering is in support of Kingston Women’s Centre, a local charity offering long-term counselling and support to women in the community. Takings from the evening, after basic costs and booking fees, will be donated, with the option to give more if you wish.
