The Radif Retreat Institute of Classical Persian Music Master Class - Workshop

The Persian American Professionals Community is proud to present Fared Shafinury’s master class on classical Persian music, taking place on Sunday, February 23rd—just a day after his incredible performance in Austin. Come explore the intricacies of the Radif, the foundation of classical Persian music where melody and rhythm are deeply intertwined with Persian poetry. The workshop will be conducted by Fared Shafinury, Naghmeh Sarang, and Rambod Dargahi. In addition to Persian singing, the setâr, kamanche, and Tonbak will be the main instruments for instruction.
This event is a collaboration between the Radif Retreat Institute of Classical Persian Music and the Ethnomusicology Department of the Butler School of Music.
