The Goodwater Loop is an "IMBA Epic" trail 26 miles long managed by Austin Ridge Riders and the US Army Corp or Engineers. Nicknamed "The Dragon", it wraps around Lake Georgetown in Georgetown, Texas. This is considered a very challenging trail in terms of both technical terrain and distance.
We'll have a post ride hang-out! Feel free to bring a folding chair, and snacks and beverages!
Advanced Rides will be canceled if trail conditions are wet. RSVP to receive email alerts for any changes or cancellations. If you are interested in being a group ride leader, please click here.
- Not recommended for beginner riders, this is a challenging trail system.
- Helmets are mandatory!
- Under 18 years old may join only if accompanied by a Parent/Guardian at all times during the ride.
- Bring plenty of water for the ride.
- Ensure your bike is mechanically sound.
- Arrive early to find parking.
Groups will start in following order:
Group A (Advanced): Steady pace, few stops, mainly active recovery.
Ride Distance: 12-14 miles
Group B (Intermediate): Steady pace with stops between trail segments. Riders should be comfortable riding varying and technical single-track terrain including medium to large rocks, roots, logs and medium to large drops. Skills practiced include body positioning, riding up and down rocks/ledges, wheel lifts (front and rear), fast cornering, switchbacks, endurance.
Ride Distance: 8-10 miles
If you are not sure of your pace you can go with a faster group and then wait for next group coming up on the trail should you need to drop back.
