We're delighted to invite you to our much anticipated, 2024 AVIGuk International Conference, at the fantastic seaside location of Blackpool, on the 13th June.
The focus of the conference is to delight in the opportunity to meet together again, and to celebrate the exciting development and growth of Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) over the years. It will share many of the inspiring ways that VIG has been delivered to effect change and bring hope to so many. It will give us all an opportunity to reflect on how VIG can keep central its important Values and Beliefs, whilst continuing to grow.
It will be a great chance for us all to connect in person, whilst enjoying a rich day of key note speakers, workshops and posters, all sharing practice and innovative ways of using VIG.
Opening our conference will be Clare Law from the Blackpool Centre for Early Child Development, who is leading their Better Start programme, driving systems change and improving children’s outcomes locally.
From further afield, we have three inspiring key note speakers:
Judith Rees, Director of Operations at the ‘For Baby’s Sake Trust’: Judith took up her role in July 2015, having previously worked in the NHS for 33 years, practising as a Midwife, Health Visitor, Safeguarding Nurse and managing a Family Nurse Partnership Team. She is an accredited VIG practitioner and is passionate about breaking cycles of domestic abuse and intergenerational trauma, giving babies the best start in life.
Dr Neelam Kumar, Joint Acting Principal Educational Psychologist for Camden. Neelam has grown and developed VIG in Camden and has a vision to embed VIG practice, values, and themes in innovative ways within the Local Authority! As well as providing supervision and delivering ITCs via VIG London, she has also been a trustee on the AVIG board. A proud moment was to deliver ITC to Reykjavik, the first ever VIG training in Iceland!
Last but not least, we have AVIGuk's very own Joint CEO and founder of VIG in the UK, Hilary Kennedy. Hilary is a renowned Educational Psychologist, an International VIG Trainer and Supervisor, author of numerous VIG books and publications, as well as playing a key part in many of our VIG journeys.
We look forward to warmly welcoming you all,
The AVIGuk Team
