Join Christine Rich and Stephanie Burke as they lead you into the River of Peace & healing that is created through the prayers of pilgrims & local people since 1981.

Your program in Medjugorje consists of Franciscans' talks, daily Holy Mass, visit and climb to the hill of Podbrdo, the Apparition Hill, site of the apparition of Our Lady Queen of Peace.

On your list of things to do in Medjugorje is a visit to the village Bijakovici. All six visionaries come from here. You will pray the Way of The Cross, on the Cross Mountain. Our Medjugorje guide will take us to the Blue Cross on the slope of the Apparition Hill, walk through the fields, and those who are interested may also visit Mother's Village on the outskirts of Bijakovici. You will attend an evening program that consists of the prayer of all the three Mysteries of the Holy Rosary of the evening International Holy Mass. Afterward, you may participate in the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament or the Veneration of the Cross on Fridays.

In Our Lady's messages, it was repeated many times how important it is to come to Mass where "we meet Jesus alive." Messages of Prayer of the Rosary, Holy Mass, and Confession are the center of the evening program at St. James Church. Our time in Medjugorje will be centered around our Lady's messages, allowing hearts to be opened to her care and guidance to her Son.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a walking and hiking pilgrimage. The activity rating of this journey is moderate-to-strenuous. There are long walks and hikes, as well as several ascents and descents up and down the mountain. Pilgrims should be physically fit, accustomed to hiking over varied terrain, and come prepared for multiple hours of walking each day. Ascents and descents along the way range from moderate to steep grades. The weather will also be extremely hot.

Schedule

Day 1 

Departure from US on August 22, 2025, overnight flight to Croatia, Split.

Meals are served on board the plane.

Day 2 

Arrival to Split, Croatia, August 23, 2025 no later than 2 PM. 

In Croatia, you meet your driver and guide for transfer to Medjugorje.

Dinner will be served by our hosts that night.

Day 3 - 8 

Medjugorje Program, August 24, 2025 - August 29, 2025

Day 9

Today you will leave via the Split International airport. Flight back home.

Flight back home, August 30, 2025.

Bus will be making one trip to the airport for the earliest flight. Anyone that has a later flight will need to take other transportation to the airport.

• Taxis each way to and from the airport are $100 if not within allotted pick-up/drop-off time (can be shared with other pilgrims)

Cancellation Policy

If the traveler’s written notice of cancellation is received more than 90 days prior to the original departure date all payments made toward the price of the tour will be refunded, less a $100 processing fee. 

For cancellations received 90 days or less prior to the trip's departure, $450 plus any applicable charges imposed
by the hotels and bus companies will be non-refundable. Please note that the amount may vary with each pilgrimage and the vendors we work with. 

The Avila Foundation retains the right to cancel any pilgrimage up to the departure date in which case all funds received will be returned within 10 business days.
