AWAY WITH THE GIRLS

Nevis Range Gondola Gains: High-Altitude MTB Social | Away With Adventures

We’re taking the adventure to new heights—literally! Skip the climb and join us for a day of gravity-fed fun. We’ll be loading our bikes onto the UK’s only mountain gondola, whisking us up to 650m on the slopes of Aonach Mòr. From there, we’ll tackle the flowing alpine-style trails with the best views in the Highlands.

  • 📍 Location: Nevis Range Mountain Experience (Meeting at the Gondola Base)
  • ⏱ Duration: Completely depends how long you want to bike for - Gondola is open from 9:30am-4:00pm
  • 🚴‍♀️ Route: Choose your own route, decided between Blue, Red and Black trails
  • 👯‍♀️ Who this is for: Women with mountain biking experience who are comfortable on sustained descents and blue-graded features.

✨ What to expect:

  • The Vibe: All the thrill, none of the uphill! This is a social "uplift" day. We’ll ride the gondola together, regroup at the top for photos of the Ben, and descend at a pace that suits the group.
  • The Trails: Expect long, winding descents with incredible "big mountain" views. The Blue Doon is long, so while it isn't "steep," it is a physical challenge for the arms and legs!
  • The Break: We’ll stop at some point during the day for lunch.

🚲 Important Info & Safety

  • Gondola Tickets: You are responsible for purchasing your own MTB Uplift Pass. We recommend booking online in advance to save time and ensure availability.
  • Peer-Led Social: This is a community meet-up. There is no professional coach or guide. You are responsible for your own riding and safety.
  • Mandatory Gear: A high-quality Mountain Bike (Full suspension is highly recommended for comfort on the long descents). Full-face helmets are encouraged but not mandatory for the Blue trails; a standard MTB helmet is the minimum requirement.
  • Protection: We strongly recommend knee pads, gloves, and eye protection (for the wind and grit on the way down).
  • Your Responsibility: Long descents can be tiring. Ensure your brakes are in perfect working order with plenty of pad life left!

⚠️ Waiver & Risk

By booking, you acknowledge that downhill mountain biking involves inherent risks, including high speeds and technical terrain. You accept full responsibility for your own safety and equipment. Away With Adventures is not liable for any injury or damage.

🌧️ Weather

The gondola is sensitive to high winds. If the gondola is closed for safety, we will pivot to a "Pedal-In" forest social on the lower trails or postpone.
