The Highlands High-Wire: Vertical Views & Cliffside Thrills | Away With Adventures

A Via Ferrata is a simple safety system that has you climbing metal rungs, similar to a ladder, while attached to a safety cable with a harness. You manage yourself along the course while under the supervision of third party expert guides. Cross the top of the 80m waterfall on their wire sky bridges. All Via Ferrata’s take you to amazing places with relative ease, theirs takes you to the top of one of Scotlands highest waterfalls. Once at the top we walk back down a path enjoying the wonderful views. Although very popular in Europe this is the only Via Ferrata in Scotland!

📍 Meeting Point: Kinlochleven (Near Fort William)

⏱ Duration: Approx. 3 to 4 hours (including kit fitting, safety briefing, and the climb)

👯‍♀️ Who this is for: Women with a good level of physical fitness and who are ok with heights, no previous climbing experience is necessary.

• Instructor-Led: Unlike our standard social meet-ups, this specific activity is fully guided by qualified, professional instructors who will manage all safety equipment and technical briefings.
• Mandatory Gear: All specialist safety equipment—including a harness, lanyard system, and helmet—is provided and included in your ticket price.
• Footwear & Clothing: Sturdy footwear with good grip (walking boots or trail shoes) is essential. Comfortable, flexible sports clothing and a pair of grippy gloves (like gardening or cycling gloves) are highly recommended.
• What to Bring: A small backpack that fits securely, plenty of water, some energy snacks, a waterproof jacket, and your phone/camera (with a secure wrist strap or lanyard!).

You declare yourself physically fit, free from medical conditions that could affect your balance or grip, and comfortable with extreme heights. Participants must adhere strictly to all safety briefings and instructor commands. Away With Adventures and its partners are not liable for any personal injury or damage to personal property.

This event is subject to weather. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel in the event of severe weather (high winds or torrential rain). Please dress for all four seasons! No refunds will be given for poor weather unless the event is cancelled by the organiser.
