AWAY WITH THE GIRLS

Barbarafield Farmland Hack | Fife Adventure

We’re heading to the beautiful Kingdom of Fife for a classic Scottish horse riding experience! Located just outside Cupar, Barbarafield Riding School is set on over 300 acres of rolling farmland and local bridleways, including sections of the historic Pilgrim’s Way. It’s the perfect setting for a scenic, active ride through open fields and countryside tracks.

We are teaming up with the fantastic, TRSS-approved team at Barbarafield for a fully guided hack. This is a social, supportive ride designed to get us out on the land together, enjoy the big Fife skies, and share some laughs with fellow adventure-loving girls.

📍 Location: Barbarafield Farm, Cupar, Fife

Duration: 1.5 hours (including a brief safety check, stirrup adjustment, and photo stops)

🌾 The Terrain: A mix of open farm fields, established tracks, and natural countryside trails.

👯‍♀️ Who this is for: This ride is open to multiple experience levels! Whether you are comfortable at walk and trot only, or you are a more experienced rider ready to canter, you are welcome. Minimum requirement: You must have a balanced, secure seat and be comfortable trotting.

✨ What to Expect

  • The Vibe: Supportive, relaxed, and strictly non-competitive. This is all about looking after each other, enjoying the horses, and taking in the fresh air.
  • The Split Groups: To make sure everyone gets the most out of their ride, the hack will split into two groups on the trail. One group will enjoy a steady, scenic walk and trot ride, while the other group will head off for some canters across the open fields before we all regroup.
  • The Scenery: If the weather behaves, we’ll have beautiful panoramic views across the North East Fife countryside as we explore the estate.

🐴 What is Provided & Kit Requirements

  • The Horses: You will be paired with a fit, friendly, and well-schooled horse suited to your specific riding level and group preference.
  • Safety Gear: Riding hats conforming to current safety standards are mandatory and can be borrowed from the centre if required. Wear appropriate footwear with a smooth sole and a small heel (boots can also be borrowed if needed).
  • Clothing: Dress for the Scottish elements! We recommend comfortable riding tights/jodhpurs, layers, and a good waterproof jacket. Avoid loose, flapping clothing that might spook the horses.

⚠️ Safety & Booking Reminder

This ride is fully hosted, guided, and insured by our partner third-party equestrian company. Their professional ride leaders are there to ensure a safe and enjoyable route for both groups. However, horse riding is an outdoor adventure sport with inherent risks. All participants will be required to complete a rider registration form prior to setting off.

🌧️ Weather

Horses are hardy, but the riding centre may reschedule or cancel the ride if the weather or ground conditions become unsafe.
