Wilder Ways Horse Riding Holiday

Fri 9 Apr 2027 16:00 - Sun 11 Apr 2027 17:00 BST Kintyre

Are there any girls 21+ in Scotland looking to explore more of Scotland on horseback and connect and ride with other local people?

Away With Adventures is very excited to be pairing up with Cara and Nikki at Wilder Ways for a brand new and literally one of a kind exclusive collaboration (eeeeek)!!!

I am sure many of you will have heard of, looked at and wanted to go on a Wilder Ways horse riding holiday in Scotland...well now is your chance. If you haven't then just go and have a look at their reviews!

This will likely be the only time you are able to try Wilder Ways like this, they specialise in longer holidays, however, we both have a passion for getting local people together, connecting and exploring Scotland. We have created a shorter package that allows local people to see the beauty of Scotland, take minimal time off work and at a lower cost than usual.

Welcome to Wilder Ways, Bite Size Trip

A trip where you put your phone away and settle in for an adventure surrounded by strong badass women who genuinely want to spend time with you and treat you like family!

Friday 4pm to Sun 5pm (+ optional add on till Monday morning), all-inclusive, 2 full days of action packed horse activities (10am-5pm, 14 hours total) with their passionate owners in a very remote and ritual part of Scotland.

Location:

Kintyre Peninsula, a very rural part of Scotland. An area that is really about the adventure in a location that is unspoilt and not touristy.

Riding:

  • Wilderness hills and glens long trail ride day, Cara believes this is the best ride to enjoy epic views, ever changing terrain and exhilarating canters along forest paths. You will not believe the places you can take your horse. It will also be spring so expect to see the lambs in the fields! This really is Wilder Ways so don't be afraid to potentially get muddy!
  • Horseback Archery, an ancient art where you can channel your inner warrior and feel bad-ass. We will start off by learning the skills on the ground before doing it from horse back. It is common for riders with a good balance to be cantering and hitting targets by the end of the session...can we just take a second to imagine doing this!?

Horses:

Characterful and willing horses, a mix of native breeds (Connemara, Irish Cob) and more exotic breeds (Appaloosa, Arab, Irish Sports Horse, Hackney x), all ranging from 13hh to 16.2hh.

Accommodation:

We will stay in their 150-year-old characterful and cosy farmhouse where you will have stunning views of the glen, horses, farm animals and wildlife from every window. In the evenings we can all cosy up by the fire. There are 4 guest bedrooms, 2 twin and 2 doubles first come first served.

Food:

Delicious home cooked meals using much of their own home grown and locally sourced produce. Meals are served in the glass room, a gorgeous timber and glass space that looks out onto the fields. All dietary requirements are catered to.

Breakfast: A fresh cooked meal and continental options

Lunch: Archery day will be a sit-down lunch to suit the season and the weather, could be salads and homemade quiche, or a hearty hot soup and homemade bread. Trail riding day: Packed lunch which is eaten out on the trail surrounded by the horses.

Dinner: 2 course meal which is created on Nikki & Cara’s personal love of food.

Social:

Small group of 6. Comfort knowing you are coming with a friendly group of people who are based in Scotland. People you can truly build a lasting connection with and ride again and again with in our beautiful country. Guaranteed we will all have a great laugh and a proper adventure. Feel free to come solo or with a friend.

Host:

An Away With Adventures host will be there to welcome everyone, bring the group together, ensure everyone is comfortable throughout, deal with all the admin, take all the photos and be a helping hand whenever needed!

Riding Experience:

You will have to be ride fit for long days in the saddle, a good rider with recent experience, comfortable in walk, trot and canter riding out in the open on uneven ground and have good balance. If you have any reservations, just ask. For the welfare of the horses the max (dressed) weight is 82.5kg.

Travel:

We can car share to help the environment, save money and have more time socialising and connecting. There is also a bus or a flight from Glasgow if you would prefer with a free transfer available to the farm.

Cost:

£1,150 per person. This is an exclusive trip that includes 14 hours of horse activities, all home cooked meals, farmhouse accommodation, passionate guides and a caring host. You just have to turn up and have a wicked time. Initial £50 to Away With Adventures and 30% deposit on remaining balance paid directly to Wilder Ways to secure your spot (via an exclusive link) followed by the remaining balance paid direct to Wilder Ways 28 days before the ride.

Not included: Rider insurance is mandatory (you can get it for £5.75 from Harry Hall), alcohol if wanted, £50 single room supplement per night if you would like your own room.

Optional Additional Extra Night:

We have the option to stay an extra night if we would like to have final farewell dinner, unwind and talk around the fire how amazing the weekend was. We would then depart feeling fresh at 11am after breakfast on the Monday. This would be an extra £150 per person. I am aware people might have to get back for work or might prefer to save the money so we wanted to make this optional. If we all decide to leave on Sunday evening, we can stop in Inveraray for dinner on the way home.

Questions:

Feel free to reach out directly to Kathryn to ask any questions about the trip!

Videos:

Have a look at these videos to get an idea of what the trip will look like. We decided to go with the trail ride instead of the beach, we can ride on the beach in other places in Scotland and Cara believes the trail ride is much better!
