Flexibility Training & Contortion Basics Workshop with Kacy (guest teacher)

Description
The workshop is will be a deep dive into basic contorted shapes, with an emphasis on splits and backbending. Intended skill level is beginner, with plenty of modifications for those who are further in their movement practice (not intended for very advanced contortionist).
The 90 minute training will open up with a warm up to best loosen the joints, then class will break into two parts:
- Splits and hip opening dynamic stretches followed by static holds to best get accustomed to maintaining shapes by building strength
And
- Back-bending and upper body flexibility training, consisting of drills designed to strengthen the spine and increase back mobility
We’ll play with postures that use all elements we reviewed prior - open to the classes preference and close out class with a short series of restorative postures.
