Meridian Yoga Technique (MYT) developed by Dr. Rose Erin Vaughan, blends Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with yoga for a comprehensive practice that helps you to cultivate harmony in your body, mind, and spirit.
About the practice: This series of poses, breathwork, sound purification, and qi gong practices utilize the TCM Meridian pathways and points to connect our experience in our physical bodies to our deeper emotional and energetic experiences.
Our bodies hold deep innate wisdom, and the capacity to heal ourselves from within. MYT helps you to tap into this; as you build awareness of the subtle energy in your body and the complex and intelligent systems within, you can form a more holistic relationship to your body, emotions, and being.
What to expect: You can expect a grounding practice that deepens your experience in classic yoga poses, expands your body awareness, and teaches you about the TCM meridian pathways.
You will learn more about the 12 primary meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and how to feel them in your body and in various yoga poses. You will also learn acupressure points that you can apply during your yoga practice, or outside of yoga, which can help support your physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. You will also receive resources to continue to study and learn beyond the workshop :)
You may experience emotions surfacing as we move through the practice. MYT is designed to help you balance and release these emotions in a safe and trauma-informed setting, so that you can return back to your true center: loving awareness ˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗
This practice is beginner-friendly and all-levels, beneficial and engaging for the first-time yogi and the experienced practitioner alike.
Please buy a ticket in advance. We cannot guarantee space for walk-in attendees without a ticket. Tickets are $22, with a limited number of free community spots available. About the teacher: Jackie has been practicing yoga for over a decade, and has trained in a variety of lineages, including vinyasa, hatha, ashtanga, and katonah. She teaches a breath-focused, trauma-informed practice designed to guide students into deeper states of awareness and nervous system regulation. She began studying and teaching Meridian Yoga with Dr. Rose Erin Vaughan in early 2024, which expanded her awareness of the healing potential that exists within each of us. jackiegarbe.com
