Meridian Yoga (Spring) with Jackie Garbe

Sat Apr 18, 2026 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM Baby Cobra Yoga - Bushwick - 47 Thames St. #203, Brooklyn, 11237

The Meridian Yoga Technique (MYT) developed by Dr. Rose Erin Vaughan, blends Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with yoga for a comprehensive practice that helps you to cultivate harmony in your body, mind, and spirit.

About the practice: This series of poses, breathwork, sound purification, and qi gong practices utilize the TCM Meridian pathways and points to connect our experience in our physical bodies to our deeper emotional and energetic experiences, and support healing and health from within.

This workshop will focus on Spring and the corresponding Wood Element, exploring yoga techniques related to the Liver and Gallbladder meridians. These meridians have to do with the flow of emotions and energy through your body, and as such can relate to both stagnation (in the form of tension, anger, and frustration) as well as flow (creative flow, energy, and forward movement). This practice will help you to balance energies in these meridians and release tension, both physical and emotional.

Working with the Liver and Gallbladder meridians helps with emotional regulation, resilience, and stress management. You can think of it as a spring cleaning for your inner world :)

Our bodies hold deep innate wisdom, and the capacity to heal ourselves from within. MYT helps you to tap into this; as you build awareness of the subtle energy in your body and the complex and intelligent systems within, you can form a more holistic relationship to your body, emotions, and being.

What to expect: You can expect a grounding practice that deepens your experience in classic yoga poses, expands your body awareness, and teaches you about the TCM meridian pathways, focusing on the Liver and Gallbladder Meridians, Spring, and the Wood element. Whether you are new to Traditional Chinese Medicine or are an experienced practitioner, you can expect to expand your awareness of how these pathways and how you can move the energy through movement, breath, and awareness.

You may experience emotions surfacing as we move through the practice. MYT is designed to help you balance and release these emotions in a safe and trauma-informed setting, so that you can return back to your true center: loving awareness ˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗

This practice is beginner-friendly and all-levels, beneficial and engaging for the first-time yogi and the longtime practitioner alike.
