Laughter Yoga with Tessa Rae Butler (guest teacher)

Join us for Laughter Yoga at Baby Cobra! Are you looking to bring more joy and presence into your life? Foster deeper connections with yourself and the people around you? Tap into silliness and childlike play? Well then this is the class for you! Laughter Yoga originated in India from Dr. Madan Kataria after he was studying the many benefits of laughter, and decided to create a movement centered around joy, community and creating health in the mind and body through laughter. Every time you laugh, your body releases endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and more. And the cool thing is, this all happens even if you "fake" laugh (and fake laughter often turns into real laughter). In this session we'll spend time sharing laughter exercises, plus some light movement, to experience first-hand the benefits of laughter for the mind, body and soul. Tessa Rae Butler is a space holder, event creator, and music publishing A&R based in NYC. Tessa has been hosting monthly Community Gatherings for over 4 years, where every month people gather together around a different theme and journal to inspire conscious conversation. She also has been hosting Playful Movement workshops since 2021, created with the intention to connect people with their inner child + silliness + let go of judgement. Her passions of cultivating joy, bringing people together, and connecting with play and silliness has led her to also leading Laughter Yoga classes for the past couple of years. It is Tessa's truest joy to inspire others to find joy inside of themselves and in community.
