“Who am I?” “What am I?” “What is my purpose?”
These are all questions we encounter in our lives—Jñāna Yoga invites us to get curious about the answers. One of the classical paths of yoga, Jñāna Yoga is the pursuit of self-realization through study and self-inquiry. It offers a practice for examining what we believe, how we see ourselves, and how we move through the world.
Let's find out!
Jnana Book Club is open to anyone who is interested in deepening their yoga practice off of the mat by reading and building understanding through community discourse. For two hours every month, Readers will come together to discuss a pre-selected work of fiction or nonfiction, that explores various philosophical yogic themes and their modern day applications.
What to expect
Each meet up will start with ten minutes of pranayama, followed by a moderated, lively discussion. Participation is welcomed, but not required. You do not have read from cover to cover to join in the conversation, but reading does enhance the quality of discussion. At Jnana Book Club, everyone is a teacher and a student. Instead of taking a prescriptive, how-to approach, attendees are encouraged to enter with curiosity and to share their personal experiences and insights.
All are welcome. Please RSVP to the date you intend to join. Option to donate available for studio upkeep and event management.
