The Sugar Syndrome by Lucy Prebble
Multiple dates and times
BackDock Arts, 4006
Description
Dani is on a mission. She’s just 17, hates her parents, skives college and prefers life in the chatrooms. What she’s looking for is someone honest and direct. Instead, she finds Tim, a man twice her age, who thinks she is 11 and a boy.
The first play from Lucy Prebble (playwright of ENRON and The Effect), The Sugar Syndrome is a story of growing up all at once, of a youthful search for meaning, and of the horror of recollecting teenage exploits. It is a work that needs to be reckoned with, and one that does not settle when the curtains close. It’s funny, painful, and a must-watch for the internet generation, and all who love them.
