Irish Backgammon Open 2026

The Backgammon Federation of Ireland invites you to take part in the 34th Irish Backgammon Open.  This tournament is the longest-running and most prestigious backgammon tournament in Ireland.  Both local and international players can take part.  Entry is open to players of all skill levels.  Further details will be published on the official event page:  backgammonireland.com/irish-open-2026

Expected Schedule:

Fri  19:00:  Warm Up event (€20 entry TBC) + Super Jackpot (€200 entry TBC)

Sat 10:30:   5 Round Swiss - 7pt matches

Sun 10:00   Last 16 KO - 9pt;  QF onwards - 11pt  

Sun 10.30   Consolation KO 5pt

Sun 12.30   Last Chance KO 3pt

Refund Policy:  Refunds available up to 30 days prior to the event

Progression to last 16:  After the 5 round Swiss, there will be one place in the last 16 to be decided between approximately 23 players on 3 wins.  To avoid lengthy delays, a random draw will be made to decide which player will progress to the last 16.
