A film club for anyone who wants to soak up the nostalgia of growing up, pulled in different directions, or for today's youth, who have more freedom to embrace all their facets
Badmaash Brum Film Club
Events list
Badmaash Brum Film Club is a film club is for all the desi folks who were too desi for white Britain, and too gori-fied for the desis. It’s for anyone who wants to soak up the nostalgia of growing up, pulled in different directions, or for today's youth, who have more freedom to embrace all their facets.
We wanted to call it Badmaash, in homage to the word for ‘rogue’ or ‘mischievous’ in many South Asian languages.
The film club will span 6 months and explore British South Asian youth culture across films and complimentary wraparound events. The screenings will have a particular focus on the dualities of second-generation, working-class youth.
