All levels are welcome, and participants will also enjoy focused time in three distinct workshop groups:
Pascal Gemme ~ fiddlers
Nicholas Williams ~ other melody players
Yann Falquet ~ rhythm/accompaniment players
Participate in the workshop only, or stay for the 7pm evening concert in the same venue! (Separate ticket).
Belfast Concert 7:00 pm (Doors 6:30pm)
Genticorum is a distinctive voice of Québécois traditional music. The trio is Pascal Gemme on fiddle, mandolin, foot percussion and voice; Yann Falquet on guitar, jaw harp, and voice; and Nicholas Williams on accordion, flute, and voice.
In French, to describe the chemistry between people, you say they have atomes crochus—literally, that their atoms are interlaced. Genticorum’s connection is magnetic. In the filigree of their arrangements, seamlessly melding fiddle, flute, accordion, guitar, foot percussion, and voices, there’s always an organic spark. At its root, this is social music, and audiences connect deeply with the pleasure that Pascal, Yann, and Nicholas get from playing together!
Join Genticorum for this special concert at 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, at the UU Church of Belfast, 37 Miller St in Belfast.
Consider coming early for the music workshops, at 3 pm in the same venue! (Separate ticket). Pascal leads fiddlers, Nicholas leads other melody instruments, and Yann leads rhythm players. Then join us Sunday as Genticorum leads a vocal workshop and matinee concert in Blue Hill!
TICKETS: Tickets are available online until Friday September 5 at 1pm. Tickets at the door (only when capacity allows) will be $10 more.
