Wednesday, July 8– Bagaduce Music House Party Features DownEast New Music, Prayers Remain Forever, Music for Cello and Piano

DownEast New Music is an ensemble dedicated to bringing dynamic performances of chamber music by living composers to DownEast and MidCoast Maine. In this performance, Clare Monfredo and Conrad Winslow will play music for cello and piano showcasing music by composers of different generations and cultures. These include Pulitzer-winning American composers Kevin Puts and George Crumb to the varied voices of today — Emily Praetorius and Cassandra Miller alongside a world premiere by composer and pianist Conrad Winslow.

Cellist Clare Monfredo grew up in Seal Harbor, Maine, and has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral leader all over the world, collaborating with a diverse array of notable artists, from Patricia Kopatchinskaja to Jon Batiste, to groups such as Ensemble Intercontemporain, A Far Cry, and the International Contemporary Ensemble.

Conrad Winslow is a composer and pianist whose work has been commissioned by Carnegie Hall, Alarm Will Sound, and the American Composers Orchestra. Raised in Homer, Alaska, he first learned to make a world from scratch by watching his parents build a log cabin home in the woods. His work has been called "compelling" (New York Times) and described as a "scenic, boisterous and bumpy ride" (Albany Times Union).

Bagaduce Music's Second Wednesday House Party is a monthly midweek gathering that combines live music, food, and community in a relaxed house-concert setting — an affordable opportunity to experience exceptional artists up close.

Soups, snacks, and chai will be available from 6:00–7:15 PM from Conscious Café, this month in the Bagaduce Music Library. Native Gardens of Blue Hill will also be offering guided trail walks. A Native Gardens of Blue Hill docent will be available to answer questions and share inspiration right here on the Bagaduce Music Campus!

Concert admission: Advanced tickets encouraged at Bagaducemusic.org. $15–35 suggested. Tickets at the door as capacity allows.

Bagaduce Music is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fostering musical experiences throughout Maine's coastline.
