Baila Thursdays Bi-Monthly Social

Join us for a special Baila Thursdays social at La Cosecha in the Union Market District of Washington, DC on July 10th! Enjoy a beginner Salsa lesson with Baila DC, open dancing all night, music by DJ Alemana, and LIVE salsa music featuring our special guests, Orquesta Manplesa! We will also feature two floors of dancing and we’ll be going until midnight! Plus, enjoy cocktails and food from nearby vendors at La Cosecha!

• 6:45 PM – Check-in
• 7-8 PM - Beginner Salsa Lesson w/ Baila DC (no partner necessary)
• 8 PM -12 AM - Open dancing⁠, music by DJ Alemana + Live Band, Orquesta Manplesa

Cost

• $25 for salsa class + open dancing
• $20 for open dancing only

*Online pre-registration via Ticket Tailor is recommended. A limited number of walk-up spots will be available and will be first-come, first-serve.

About Orquesta Manplesa

At the intersection of tradition and youth, just past Mount Pleasant Street, lies Orquesta Manplesa. Named after the Spanish pronunciation of Mount Pleasant, the 9-piece salsa band is focused on upkeeping the musical tradition of Latinos in DC, especially in this historic neighborhood. Orquesta Manplesa lives by one rule: “keep them dancing.” Their eclectic mix of salsa, spanning eras and regions, keeps the dance floor alive all night. Orquesta Manplesa puts into music what it means to be from DC - community and joy above all else.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? 

Parking in La Cosecha Parking Garage is free for the first 3 hours and $15 thereafter. Ample free parking is available in the lot in front of Union Market or on the street. Metro Access. Take the Red Line to the NoMA-Gallaudet U stop. Bus Access. The market is accessible by the U St-Garfield Metrobus lines (90, 92 and 93).
