These aren’t your grandma’s caramel apples! This 5 hour hands on class takes caramel apples to a whole new level. Each student will make custom caramel and then create delectable gourmet caramel apples individually crafted with a variety of chocolates and toppings. Everything is provided, just bring yourself and even a friend to share the experience. And get ready to learn a new confectionery craft to share with friends, family and clients.

In this class students learn:

• To make caramel from scratch
• How to select, prep, and properly coat the apples
• Multiple designs and toppings
• Packaging for gift giving or sales

Take Home:

Students will take home their gourmet apple creations and custom handmade caramel.

Age Requirements:

The minimum age for this class is 14 years old.

Breaks:

Students will be given a 30 minute break halfway through the class. We encourage students to bring their own lunch.

ARTIST PAT ASHLEY HOWARD

Pat Ashley Howard is a nationally acclaimed confectionery artist best known for her award winning gingerbread houses. In 2006 she created her first ever gingerbread house and won the annual National Gingerbread House Competition which features hundreds of diehard gingerbread artists yearly.

The following year she won the grand prize again and a third time in 2011. Since then Pat Ashley has made numerous appearances on the Food Network, The Travel Channel, and TLC to name a few. Her creations have been featured many times on Good Morning America, on display for Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and in Cake Masters magazine.

Gingerbread houses, and cookie and cupcake decorating are her other passions and she loves sharing and teaching the craft! But when she’s not baking most likely you’ll find her engaging in her other love …f folding colorful scrapbook paper into boxes and bags creating party favors for friends and family!
