Creating with isomalt is a great way to make impressive confectionery decorations and centerpieces. In this class you will learn the basic techniques for working with isomalt to create a small showpiece. No experience is necessary and everything is supplied. Just come ready to learn a new skill.
• Proper melting and cooling techniques
• Coloring
• Pouring isomalt
• Pulled isomalt
• Texturing
Students will take home the isomalt showpiece they create in class.
Age requirement: minimum age of 18
Breaks:
Students will be given a 30-minute break halfway through the class. We encourage students to bring a snack.

Meet your Instructor! Chef Donald Joiner
Born and raised in South Louisiana, Donald Joiner grew up with a knowledge of making homemade candies from his Grandmother and basic cake decorating skills from his Aunt. In college, Joiner studied Graphic Design and Visual Arts. In 1993, he used these skills and knowledge to open his first cake business and joined the International Cake Exploration Society in 1995. In 2005, Joiner moved to Orlando, Florida to work with a major entertainment company producing custom design sugar art. Throughout his years as a Professional Cake Designer, Instructor, and Graphic Design Artist he combines his skills to create CBC Designs, LLC to provide unique cake supplies.
