PLACEWAYS - A REFLECTIVE HERITAGE WALK & EXHIBITION (Sold Out)
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of Ballaghaderreen with Dr. Anna King's heritage walk, followed by a unique exhibition curated in collaboration with Eithne Gallagher. This 'must-see' exhibition includes heartfelt contributions from our local community, as well as the stories and folklore gathered during Anna's artist residency.
11..30am - Meeting point for the walk: The Creamery, Circular Road.
During Anna's heritage walk, you will have an opportunity to revisit life in the 1930s at the creamery, uncover the social heartbeat of the old railway station and relive the vibrant hustle and bustle of Monica Duff's iconic store.
Following the walk, we will gather at The Shambles for a compelling presentation and exhibition.
12.15 pm: Exclusive Heritage Exhibition. The Shambles.
Enjoy a collection of unique memorabilia kindly donated by Michael Cawley, Conor O'Connell, Pat Timon, and John Coleman. These precious items are curated alongside a series of audio-recorded personal stories and a selection of vintage photographs from the 'Michael Gallagher Collection', generously on loan from Malachy Gallagher.
Booking is essential for the WALK.
If the WALK is SOLD OUT - you can still attend the EXHIBITION at 'The Shambles' by emailing Anna to book your place.
