This Archive is a Powerhouse
Photography exhibition and conversational talk Chapel Street, Ballaghaderreen. The Powerhouse, built in 1900, supplied electricity to Ballaghaderreen generated by a water turbine from the Lung River between 1912-1933. Later used as a science room for St. Nathy’s (1960s) and then as a museum (1980-90’s). Nollaig Molloy has been researching the building's history, its contents and the people who worked there. To celebrate its history this event will drawing attention to connections between people, archive objects, land and industry through photography and conversation.
