The inspirational Colm O’Hara brings the Totally Made Up Orchestra project to Ballaghadereen Arts Festival, Co Roscommon on August 1st & he wants you to join!
For an afternoon workshop, we’re looking for musicians and music lovers of any age, any instrument, any ability to be part of the beautiful music phenomena that is The Totally Made Up Orchestra , a unique community music-making project.
How it works?
Guided by Colm at the 3:30pm workshop, you will devise, create and perform a completely new piece of music from scratch over the course of just a few hours in the afternoon. This is then performed at the 7.30pm public performance (which is free admission).
It doesn’t matter if you have been playing for years or minutes! It doesn’t matter if you are 9 or 90! If you can read music – great! If you don’t read music - even better!
All you need to be part of this amazing ensemble is a desire to be heard, a desire to play with other people, an open mind and a big creative heart!
Anyone who has previously taken part in the orchestra has found it a joyous, uplifting and unforgettable experience!
