About The Beginner Level

We invite you to watch the short video below from Isabella. It gives a clear and honest sense of the level and what’s expected.

This level is for adult dancers (18+) who are relatively new to ballet – with around two years of experience and training at least once a week – as well as those returning to ballet as adults, or anyone with a small amount of experience who wishes to build their training properly from the ground up.

At this level, we lay the foundations with care and intention. You will learn how to stand with correctness, move with clarity, and coordinate your whole body with purpose. We build the strength and awareness that support confident, healthy movement, step by step. The focus is on precision, understanding, and steady, safe progress – so you can develop in a way that truly lasts.

You’ll Love the Beginner Intensive If:

  • You are serious about improving technique and want to do so in a supportive environment.
  • You want to master your foundations of ballet, get stronger and develop your style.
  • You wish pre-professional intensives extended to adults as well, getting attention you deserve.
  • You want to build community with other dancers who are passionate about ballet and becoming the best dancers they can be.

This Intensive May Not Be Right For You:

  • You have never taken ballet before or are an absolute beginner. See balletwithisabella.com for our Absolute Beginner Course!
  • You are looking for drop-in classes or a part-time workshop (this intensive is a full 5 days).
  • You aren't interested in focusing on the minute details of technique.

Mid-week, we host an informal social in the studio after class at Rambert (Wednesday 15 July 2026*), offering time to connect with Isabella and your fellow dancer.

We understand that sometimes plans change, and we’ll always do our best to support you.

  • If you cancel more than 60 days before the Intensive begins, you’ll be eligible for a 50% refund – just send us an email and we’ll happily arrange it for you.
  • Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer refunds for cancellations made within 60 days of the Intensive start date.
  • Please note that we can’t refund any additional costs such as travel, accommodation, or other expenses.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Booking Your Place: Spaces are limited and full up quickly! Your spot is confirmed once we have received full payment and you have submitted your video link at checkout.
  2. Who Can Join: Our Intensives are open to all dancers aged 18 and over. These events are physically demanding, so please make sure you feel prepared for several days of dancing – we’d hate for you to risk injury. Your body knows best!
  3. Why Insurance is a Good Idea: We strongly recommend obtaining personal travel or event insurance in case you need to withdraw due to illness or injury.
  4. If You’re Injured or Unwell: If you are managing a minor injury, you’re still very welcome to attend! We’ll do our best to adapt things for you – please just know that you’re participating at your own risk. In case of illness, injury or fatigue, we may suggest you rest or withdraw – this decision will always be made with your safety in mind. Please note that our standard refund policy applies in all cases, including withdrawal due to illness or injury.
  5. Hands-on Support: To help with alignment and technique, Isabella or a member of the BWI teaching team may use gentle, hands-on corrections. If you’d prefer not to be physically adjusted, just let us know in advance, we absolutely respect your boundaries.
  6. Looking After You: If you become unwell, injured or overwhelmed during the Intensive, we may suggest temporarily or permanently asking you to sit out or take a break for your own safety. We will always prioritise your well-being.
  7. Level Placement & Group Respect: If it turns out you’ve booked a level that’s not quite right, we’ll chat with you and decide what’s safest. If we feel it’s best for you not to continue, you’ll be refunded. If someone’s behaviour disrupts others or affects the group’s experience, we reserve the right to ask them to step away. A refund will be issued only at our discretion.
  8. Looking After Your Things: Please keep an eye on your things – we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items during the Intensive.
  9. A Quick Note on Liability: By booking your place, you’re letting us know that you feel fit and ready to participate – and that you understand you’re joining the Intensive at your own risk. While we’ll always prioritise your safety and well-being, ISABELLA can’t be held responsible for any injury, loss or damage that might occur during the event. If you choose to join us against medical advice, or don’t follow guidance from Isabella or the ISABELLA team, we won’t be liable for any resulting issues. By attending, you agree not to take legal action against Ballet With Isabella LTD in relation to any injury or damage to yourself or your belongings.
  10. Photos & Videos: We love capturing the magic of our Intensives! We may take photos or videos during classes and activities. By attending, you’re giving us permission to be featured – but if you’d prefer not to appear in any content, just let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate. All photos, videos, and recordings captured during the event belong to ISABELLA, and may be used in future promotional, marketing, or educational content. If you would prefer not to appear in any media, please notify us in writing before the event.
  11. What If The Plan Changes? We will do our absolute best to stick to the schedule and advertised team, but sometimes unexpected changes are unavoidable. If Isabella can’t teach due to unforeseen circumstances, another wonderful teacher from the ISABELLA team close to Isabella and her style will step in. In this case, no refunds will be issued.
  12. If We Need to Cancel or Postpone: If something outside of our control happens (like illness, extreme weather or emergencies) we’ll give you the option to: a) Get a refund, or b) Transfer your ticket to another ISABELLA London Intensive, subject to availability.
