Traditionally ceramic objects were created & glazed with only natural components : wood ashes, rocks reach, minerals, mud & natural pigments. We invite you to rediscover the diverse pallet of colors and materials that nature has to offer.

This workshop is a full on imersion into artistic practice of Elizaveta Barsega, who has been working with natural materials since 6 years, conducting her research around the world and numerous studio experiments.

Together with Elizaveta you will dive into the history of natural glazes, go through the assential basics of glaze chemisry in a hands-on way and explore the endless possebilities of embodying natural components in your creative practice. You will learn how different minerals modify in the fire and how to work along with this transition.

You will learn the oldest traditional recepies and ways to transform them into endless glaze poessebilities. All the participants will be invited to the "Glaze Buffet", where over a dosen of natural glaze components line up awaiting for your hands to do the magic of creating your own mixture.

Exploring glazes by the power of intuition and emperical research is the moto of current workshop.

The workshop is accessible for absolute beginners, no prior knowledge of glaze mixing is required.
