RELAX & CLAY - Open Studio Sessions

ABOUT THE EVENT

is a 2 hours -  OPEN STUDIO SESSION designed for both beginners and those with experience to experiment and work independently with small guidances from one of our teachers — introducing and refining handbuilding techniques if necessary while sharing interesting clay curiosities, all accompanied by a relaxed cup of tea/ iced tea / sparkling water and some snacks.

Together, we learn how to shape our ideas while embracing the natural flow of the clay. The focus is on slowing down, beginning again, experimenting, and discovering your own way to build a unique piece in a calm and supportive atmosphere.

By the end of the session, you can decide whether you’d like to keep your piece and have it wrapped in plastic to continue next sessions to glaze  and fire it at the studio, or take it home as a raw unfired decorative object.

Open Studio - Facilitator: 

The session is guided by ceramic artist Juliane Wallau, talented artist and teacher at Barsega Studio in Berlin. Juliane has been working with clay for many years and specializes in handbuilding and slab building techniques, creating expressive and sculptural ceramic forms. Her artistic practice often explores the body, organic shapes, and the tactile qualities of clay. Juliane approaches ceramics in a very intuitive and sensitive way, encouraging participants to explore the material freely and discover their own forms. Originally from Brazil, she brings a warm and open energy to her teaching. Juliane is not only a wonderful artist but also a very attentive and inspiring teacher, creating a supportive and relaxed atmosphere in the studio.

Firing & glazing costs: 5€ small piece // 10€ big piece

4 SESSION PASS TICKET: 150 € for 4 sessions ( to be used in different Relax & Clay dates through 1 year validity)
