Basingstoke Counselling Service was founded in 1985 by a small group of local therapists wanting to provide mental health support to the local community. Since then, we have flourished to become a busy, vibrant counselling and training centre dedicated to improving the emotional wellbeing of our community.
We achieve this in two ways. Firstly, by offering affordable, professional counselling to those in need and secondly, by providing a range of training courses for those interested in supporting others with mental health difficulties.
We are a small registered charity (number 900559) and we re-invest all of the profit we receive from our clients, counselling trainees and CPD courses to help reach as many people as we can in our community.
We receive no Government funding and are sustained by client and training fees and other fundraising activities.
By booking a course with us, you’re helping to support vulnerable people in and around Basingstoke who need our help. We offer subsidised counselling sessions to people on a lower income, so that we don’t leave anyone behind in our mission to improve the mental health of our community.
If you’re able to add a donation to the cost of your course, then you’ll be helping improve mental health equity for our local residents – something we are working hard to achieve.
If you book a course with us, you’ll be asked during your transaction if you’d like to leave a donation. We’re grateful for whatever you can give to help keep us striving towards our goal.
