Bath Digital Divide Collective
All are welcome to come along and contribute to our new Digital Divide Collective, set up by Bath Bridge CIC in partnership with Tech4Good South West comprising representatives from organisations including Mayden, St. John’s Foundation, The Chartered Institute for IT, West of England Combined Authority (WECA), the Future Ambition Board (Connectivity), and the Digital Poverty Alliance.
Bath Bridge is committed to helping to close the divides
that exist in our area, starting with ensuring that everyone has fair and equal
access to digital services, education and hardware. Working with Tech4good
South West we have formed a collective to identify the barriers, map the need
and to initiate some key actions or projects.
So far we have secured support for a Digital Inclusion Lead for B&NES, explored ways to create affordable wifi by accessing unused or out of hours broadband and identified some of the ways to appropriately work with local communities.
Join us at our next meeting to help work out how to better share skills and resources, prioritise actions, and plot next steps.
