Writing Workshop - Coping with a rheumatic diagnosis or condition
Tue 24 Jun 2025 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Bath Central Library, The Podium, BA1 5AN
Description
As part of our 50th anniversary series of events and celebrations join BIRD for a free 2 hour writing workshop this June. Author Joanne Rush will guide a small group through a lovely session exploring how writing in different ways can help you. There will be an introduction and then some gentle writing exercises covering journaling, storytelling, reflective writing, poetry and memoir techniques.
You can come along and keep your experience personal, or some may like to share what they write in the session. Also, you can use pen and paper or bring along a laptop/tablet - whatever you prefer to write on. You are welcome to bring along a companion or family member. Joanne Rush has had years of experience leading creative workshops around the world and teaching literature to Cambridge University students. She is the founder of a creative writing company called ‘The Writing Set’ and more information can be found via this link: https://thewritingset.co.uk
There are free 20 spaces available to members of our BIRD community. Please register to join us. We will be in touch with everyone who registers with more information and possibly a little survey to help Joanne shape the session for everyone who comes along. We look forward to hosting and trying a new event to help people cope with their rheumatology conditions.
Refreshments will be provided during the 2 hours.
Parking is available in the Waitrose Car Park and there is a lift to the library if needed.
