Adult Workshop - Creative Nature Poetry

This workshop invites participants to engage with the natural surroundings of Beckford’s Tower as inspiration for a creative poetry workshop.

Guided by local art therapist Samantha Hickman, you will be invited to ground in the space to notice, connect, and create poetry inspired by the environment in this special location, in a creative and accessible way.

We will begin with the contemporary form of blackout poetry, utilising existing texts and making them our own.

We will then explore forming the Japanese art form of Haiku through its formulaic structure and nature at its heart.

Finally, we will create our own poems, to examine our own relationship with nature and how we have been shaped by the environments in which we have lived.

No experience necessary. This is a workshop for anyone who wishes to explore working with words in a creative and accessible way.

All materials provided.

The workshop will be held outside with refreshments provided.
